PB (H)

It all started on March 20, 2016 when Jay Summers whole life changed forever. Jay is 47 years old and is a Mechanical Engineer who is also a car designer for Ford. He specializes in how cars work so he can get the best out of any car. He has been working at Ford for 20 years now. Designing conventional cars, Hybrids and the cars he took the most pride in EVs. Every day at work he would talk to his boss Louis Parker trying to get them to switch to EVs so there would be zero emissions coming from the car. Always telling him that EVs are the future and that not only will they be appealing to the people’s interest they would be helping the environment also. But every day his boss would turn him down getting more and more annoyed because he wanted to make EVs more.

Everyday Jay would talk to Louis giving him facts about why EVs are really the future, the cleanest and the car they should be making. He would always say that they can charge from zero emission sources such as hydroelectric, nuclear, wind and solar power. Also that they have the advantage of using renewable sources and a variety of fuel to generate electricity. He also went on to explain that it is easier to control the missions from power plants than it is to control millions of Internal Combustion Engine cars [1].

Jay continued to make new designs and doing research on EVs. So he could find better ways to improve them. The things he researched the most was the batteries so he could find a way to make them travel further. So on April 14 Louis couldn’t take any more of Jay’s bickering and explanations to way EVs are better and fired him. Louis told Jay the reason he was fire was because shying away from his duties. Focusing too much on designing EVs and pushing for the company to make more of them. Instead of designing newer models for the cars that makes Ford the most money, which were conventional cars. Laughing Louis told Jay that if he continues to push for EVs he will only be disappointed and continue being a no body. But he did thank Jay for one thing and that was for making him so much money. Also when he finds out EVs are just a waste of time he can come back to wash the cars when their dirty and be a janitor.

Feeling upset and angered by what was said by his former boss Louis drove to a bar. At the bar he drank beer after beer trying to make all the anger and pain go away. After a couple hours he decided to go home and somehow tell his wife and kids that he has lost his job of 20 years. While telling his wife and kids he broke down crying, telling them he was sorry for disappointing them and not doing what his boss wanted him to do. His family told him he has nothing to be disappointed about and to keep his head up. They told him they were proud that he stuck up for what he believed and tried to push for his dreams of EVs.

After a couple months of nonstop research to find ways of improving EVs, Jay heard that Louis has showed a prototype for a new EV. Upon hearing this Jay turned the TV on and saw that the prototype for the EV was his design. Furious by this he went to confront Louis and asked why he stole his idea when he said it was stupid. Responding Louis said it wasn’t his idea since he got fired, he would also no longer have a use for it. He continued to say you should be happy that I’m actually putting use to this something you wouldn’t be able to do since you no longer work for a car company. So be happy that I am showing everyone this car that’s going to make me millions.

After hearing all of this Jay told Louis that he is going to prove he stole his idea and expose him. Walking away laughing Louis said good luck proving he stole the idea. So hearing this Jay decided to hire a PI by the name of Michael to investigate. For three weeks Michael tailed Louis looking for evidence and listening to all his conversations. Then one day he thought of a plan to try to scare Louis and make him paranoid.
So after approaching Louis he told him that he knew that he stole the idea and that he had the proof to back it up. He said that if he wasn’t paid that he would expose him. Without knowing he was being recorded Louis admitted he stole the idea, asked how he found out and how much he wanted to keep his mouth shut. Michael said he wanted to know why he stole the idea first and if he will come clean or not. Louis said that he doesn’t plan on coming clean and the reason he stole it was because it was a good idea that would end up making him billions. After hearing everything he needed to hear he set up a meeting two days later to where he should drop the money. Recording everything that happened, Michael gave him one more chance to confess that it was not his idea and once again Louis refused.

A day later after Jay got all the information that was needed he went to the president of Ford Eric Carlson and told him what was going on. Showing the president all the evidence, he called Louis to come to his office. Surprised to see Jay he asked him what he was doing here when he was fired months ago. The president asked Louis to explain why he fired Jay and why he stole his idea. Louis said he didn’t steal anything and was shown the evidence. No words came out of his mouth because he was shocked and he was told he was fired.
Eric told Jay that he would love to have him back if he didn’t mind and Jay gladly took the job. He continued to design EVs and found ways to make them better by making the batteries last longer and so the cars could travel just as far as conventional cars. Within two years Jay designed EVs that sold more than conventional cars. Becoming known as the man who paved the way for EVs and as the man who made lessened the pollution cars emitted in the environment.
