Revision Opinion Article

Electric Vehicles emit zero emissions it also does not run on gas. They’re rechargeable through home outlets and where ever there are power stations. Being Eco-friendly vehicles they do not pollute and our great for the environment. Since EVs run on batteries we do not have to worry about spending money on gas and buying oil from foreign countries. Which added up can be thousands of dollars each year and millions of dollars buying oil from different countries. EVs have the advantage of using renewable resources to generate electricity, also they can use sources such as hydroelectric, nuclear, solar, and wind power to recharge.

Not only are EVs the perfect car to buy but they help the environment by not polluting unlike the gasoline powered cars which pollute. Yes, they’re people are will shy away because of the price of EVs and short distances they travel. Although, that may be true people who want to make are environment cleaner should not be bothered by it and buy it. In the long run you will be truly happy to know that you took the initiative to help the environment. Even if it is just one person, all it takes is one person to change and sooner or later others will feel the same way and switch to EVs too. An amazing fact is that “over the course of 100,000 Internal Combustion Engine cars (ICE) are dirtier than EVs by 25 tons.” Experiments done by California Air Resources Board (CARB) have estimated that there would be 98 percent fewer hydrocarbons, 89 percent fewer oxides of nitrogen, and 99 percent less carbon monoxide than ICE in the Los Angeles Basin from operating EVs (Gribbens). In the future EVs will only get better by continuing to pollute less but also finding ways to maximize their battery use so they can travel further and last longer without having to recharge them. While also making EVs more affordable and desirable to consumers. Doing this will allow more people will buy EVs and make are environment much cleaner. Allowing us to stop relying on foreign countries for oil and reducing how much we spend on it.

My question to everybody capable of driving and has a job is why aren’t you buying EVs. The reason you aren’t buying it can’t just be because you think they’re too expensive. That may be the case for some people but I believe that is just an excuse you use. The reason I say it’s just an excuse is because those same people will spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on jewelry, purses, game systems and clothes among other things. So by the end of the year if you add the total those people spent on these things it would be enough to buy a used car. I also believe that EVs just aren’t appealing to some people because they don’t have enough horsepower, the look and feel of vehicles like Ferraris and Porsches. So because of that the people who have the money buy Ferraris, Porsches, Mercedes because to them it is more comfortable even though it pollutes a lot more.

In a couple years into the future I truly believe EVs will be the car everyone wants to buy. Not only will the cost be lower, they will soon have the look and feel of sports cars like Ferraris that people want. But even when this happens there will always be people who doubt EVs and don’t want to buy them. Still the bigger picture is that we should all change and help out in some way to help are environment and EVs are the beginning. So when some people start to realize this we will be living in a much cleaner environment, making it a better place for ourselves and kids.
